Academia says companies are slow to adopt AI. This may be true as AI works best in composing essays, assisting in legal cases, supporting healthcare and helping professors. AI is less useful when looking for solutions and searching for common sense. AI was absent when man tamed wild horses 12,000 years ago to serve as transportation, work animals, and building farms. This was also the time when cows were tamed to provide steady food and dogs to serve as herd managers and companions. We miss the freedom that mankind enjoyed in the olden days.

Taming horses moves above AI

Man then built ships to conquer oceans and laid railway tracks to master the lands. Cars arrived and planes took over the air. Only once comfortably seated in front of a PC did AI arrive to which we must give note. This invention reminds me of robots in the 1960s that promise a three-day week that never arrived.

Taming horses at Cadex began with the publication of "Batteries in a Portable World" and the release of BatteryUniversity.com, tools we now use to reach battery manufacturers and device makers. Our mission is to reveal Minimum Operational Reserve Energy (MORE) to battery users. MORE in Cadex devices requests service when the capacity falls below a set level to fully use each battery and call for replacement before failure. This boosts system reliability, lowers total cost of ownership, and protects the environment.

Many battery test methods are advancing at a rapid pace. The Diagnostic Battery Pyramid as shown leads the evolution with EIS and AI by assessing capacity with a frequency scan that is modeled against the Nyquist plot without need for loading. Professionals hint that EIS leads the future in battery diagnostics.

Until then, the battery remains the weakest link that causes half of all system failures. Taming wild horses with modern test technologies extends battery life and calls to replacement before failure. Battery diagnostics has been lagging behind other technologies, a correction we change by turning the battery into a dependable energy provider.
