The Battery Care Center by Cadex strengthens a system by securing sufficient battery capacity for given field uses, governed by the Target Selector. Weak batteries are removed; new supply can be provided with minimal human touch.

At the center is the Universal Supervisor Charger (USC) that evaluates the performance of a smart battery and calls for calibration and replacement when required.

The Target Selector serves as a gatekeeper that calls for calibration when the capacity falls below the set target. Serviced batteries are reinstated or replaced if below target. Common settings are:

85-90%: Critical mission ̶ Fewer batteries pass
80%: Default setting ̶ Average setting
60-70%: Relaxed duty ̶ Batteries serve longer

Connecting the charger to a PC reveals battery state-of-function by the Fishbowl icon with Leftover Charge. The outer ring reveals state-of-charge, while the hanging black ceiling tracks capacity loss that slowly advances to the Target Selector redline as the battery ages. Touching the Dome displays the stored data of a smart battery.

Leftover Charge is the mirror-image of battery performance. Aiming for 10–20% reserve at the end of a day, increasing the target boosts spare, while surplus charge allows relaxing the setting to keep batteries in service longer. An analogy is an aircraft carrying enough fuel for landing.

Purchasing Assist identifies weak batteries and prepares replacement as they reach end-of-life. This enables budgeting by securing the correct number of spares.

Statistics say that batteries cause half of all systems failures. Purchase Assist improves reliability by fully utilizing each battery and knowing when to replace before failure.

The RUL Chart reveals battery performance at a glance

Knowing the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of a battery provides ultimate reliability. Touching the Fishbowl Dome creates the RUL Chart with life prediction based on delivered cycles against the Target Selector. Observing the rate of decline is of special interest to defense, healthcare, public safety, logistics, service centers and rental outlets.

Cloud Analytics connects battery-care devices to a PC to share data with users and fleet supervisors with analytical services.

Cloud Analytics also performs Batch Testing to prepare Li-ion batteries for storage and AirShip. The Validation Test secures sufficient battery capacity for specific field uses.

CadexLink software operating in Level 2 is free; cloud connectivity in Level 3 is by subscription serving a virtually unlimited number of devices. The system runs in the background with minimal user interaction.
