This Newsletter lists Cadex line products (LP) in development. Each product services multiple themes to optimize market appeal and lower engineering costs. Cloud Analytics and the USC (Universal Supervisor Charger) will be available early next year with the analyzer series following.

Cloud Analytics

All next-gen Cadex LPs connect to Cloud Analytics to read and record battery history, share battery performance with users and call for battery replacement before failure. CadexLink connecting LP to a PC is free in local mode but recording battery test data in the CadexCloud has a small subscription fee.

Spectro™

Consumer Auto works on a generic matrix set to 40% pass for most applications. With Heavy Duty Auto we work with buyers to strengthen the matrix by testing batteries further when being replaced. The population of Heavy Duty batteries is smaller than the Consumer Auto type and custom matrices will make Spectro readings more accurate. Customizing matrices is a Business Development function under Sales.

We also promote the Spectro Monitor for stationary batteries with call for replacement when MORE (Minimum Operational Reserve Energy) is no longer met. These batteries require model-specific matrices that are kept in the Matrix Library. Spectro with EIS is the only technology available to measure capacity.

We also promote Spectro BMS by working with users to collect data from aging batteries for matrix development. Applications are electric power trains and BESS. We also promote the Spectro Explorer to test the integrity of batteries for micro-mobility by examining the size of the Nyquist plot. More research will be required to learn when a battery should be replaced for safety reasons.

Universal Supervisor Charger (USC) The USC comes in one-, two- and six-bays with power of 25W and 50W per bay. When inserting a smart battery, the USC validates capacity by giving a green SoH Light; orange calls for calibration or replacement. The default setting of 80% can be changed with a PC.

SoH Light

Connecting to a PC turns the USC into a Fleet Supervisor to display battery state-of-function (SoF) per Fishbowl. Linking to the CadexCloud reveals recorded battery test results to users and fleet supervisors.

Other themes are the Smart Pod to check smart batteries before field deployment; batch testing to provide quality control, and Storage and AirShip to lower state-of-charge of Li-ion to 30% or other levels. We also offer the USC Butterfly, a configured charger board for installation into a third-party device to provide battery fleet supervision by observing MORE to avoid battery failure.

Battery Analyzers

The next-gen battery analyzers share SABA, software that links the C5200, the C7400, C7400ER and C8000 to Cloud Analytics. SABA stands for Secured Automated Battery Analysis and also supports for Spectro and the USC.

The C5200 is a 2-bay analyzer sold online under $1,000. The new C7400 replaces the current unit with similar power but new features, such as servicing smart batteries and QuickTest. The C7400ER and C8000 will also present additional features with higher power. The new generation Cadex battery analyzers come with the SnapLock+ battery adapters on a flat deck to accommodate larger batteries.

Conclusion

Products made by Cadex succeeded by including unique features. The Target Selector with corrective action was added in 1988, programmable battery adapters first appeared in 1991, and the C7000 flagship simplified adapter exchange with the SnapLock in 1995. In 2004, Cadex was the first to read battery capacity by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) based on non-invasive frequency scanning and AI.

A product only lasts for one season and continuation is with much thinking by inventing a new generation that is ahead in time. We focus on RCM (Reliability-centered Maintenance) by assessing the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of a battery and sharing performance data with users and fleet supervisors. Cadex devices optimize battery life and call for replacement before failure. This mission requires a strong Sales Team that teaches, demonstrates and follows up with buyers to maintain Strategic Growth.
